Rockwell College, which Fr. Fahey attended, was founded in 1864 by the Holy Ghost Congregation as a Catholic Secondary School for Boys. It is situated seven kilometres from Cashel on the main Dublin-Cork road in County Tipperary in the Province of Munster. It is set in hectares of wooded grounds and rich farmland along with its own 10-hectare lake.
